Cupping

Cupping is an ancient healing modality traced to Ancient Egypt and Asia that is a safe and effective way to treat many conditions. Cupping is a type of negative-pressure treatment where suction is created by placing a cup on the skin and drawing the skin into the cup, and air out of the cup.  This is called dry cupping and allows me to treat the soft tissues in areas that don’t allow for access from different angles.

Simo Massage Therapy uses three cupping techniques:

Flash Cupping

A style of cupping where the cups are quickly applied and removed. This technique is effective for improving circulation.

Sliding or Myofascial Cupping

Used by applying oil and using silicone cups with light or medium pressure to affect the underlying soft tissues, such as the muscles, fascia, and tendons.  It’s like receiving a massage, but with cups.

Static Cupping

The cup is left on the body for a few minutes, usually performed with silicone or plastic cups.
